Eradicating Genericism

After chatting with Alan about my characters he believed something was missing from them. They are too generic and needed something more to really sell them. Therefore I needed to exaggerate the traits of the characters tenfold to make these characters succeed. 

Xbalanque is more side-kick in look and therefore he is going to come across as an extremely clumsy character. The characters clothing/headwear is too big for the character i.e. the characters headdress is constantly falling over his eyes and blocking his vision.

Hunahpu is a speed orientated character therefore making him have impatient characteristics would suit and also be quite an arrogant character. In terms of change of clothing from before to fit his attributes I've tried to make sense of his clothing being aerodynamic in nature but obviously still being mayan-esque. 

I'm slightly stumped as to whether making a wrapped cloth typed bodysuit is over doing it. and in terms of Hunahpu's tattoo design it is going to include 'racing stripes'.
