Plot Ideas

These are just rough ideas and I definately need to run these past Jonny tomorrow for feedback and many tweaks. The two ideas I have are very similar until a certain point.

Plot 1:

Act one:

Evening setting at a hospital and looking through the faint and blurred sight of a bedridden child three figures come into view. A brain surgeons muffled explanations for the child’s sickness can be heard and the mother figure breaks into tears. She walks over to her child kisses him/her on the head and leaves to which the brain surgeon walks over carrying a syringe while smiling menacingly. The child’s vision fades blinkingly to black as the brain surgeon injects him/her and the sound of the continuous beep from the heart rate monitor.

Act two:

The brain surgeon wheels the gurney into the hospital gardens narrowly missing encounters with other hospital staff and transfers the body into a wheelbarrow. The brain surgeon digs a hole in the hospital gardens, tips the child’s body into the grave and rapidly refills the hole. The brain surgeon turns away smiling returning the wheelbarrow and shovel apprehended from the caretakers shed. As she closes the shed door there is a faint childish laugh which the brain surgeons violently turns around. She calls out for the culprit to show themselves it goes quiet until there is another laugh. She follows the laugh and is lead back into the Garden where she trips over something.

Act three:

The brain surgeon looks down behind her and sees that what tripped her over was root which retreats back into the ground accompanied by child’s laugh. The surgeon jumps to her feet screaming as she runs for the hospital doors but is stopped by roots grabbing at her feet. She hits the ground and rolls over where she is surrounded by mutated vegetation as she backs off she falls into a hole forcing her hand into the air in panic. Soil is then tipped into the hole as the brain surgeon claws at the sides of the hole which covers up to her wrists. The hand remains showing as it flails trying to break free from the hole but the last part of the soil is tipped on top as a child’s laugh fades and the screen goes black.

Plot 2:

Act one:

Evening setting at a hospital and looking through the faint and blurred sight of a bedridden child three figures come into view. She walks over to her child kisses him/her on the head and leaves to which the brain surgeon walks over carrying a syringe while smiling menacingly. Act two:

The brain surgeon turns away smiling returning the wheelbarrow and shovel apprehended from the caretakers shed. As she closes the shed door there is a faint childish laugh which the brain surgeons violently turns around. She calls out for the culprit to show themselves. As the nurse leaves the hospital the vegetation begins to mutate in horrific ways.

Act three:

The brain surgeon returns to the garden on the next evening after her shift to inspect and to her horror finds that the child’s grave has been unearthed. She runs to the bed of the child to find he/she sound asleep but the surrounding area covered in dirt. She runs out of the room and finds that hospital is covered in roots, she hears a strange noise to which she turns round to find a mutated plant. The plant chases her and with the roots blocking the doors and corridors of the hospital the only path is back to the garden. The brain surgeon trips on a root and lands at the feet of someone. As she looks up see sees the murdered child looking down upon her laughing and smiling backed up by several mutant plants. She screams for help, clambering to her feet she tries to run back into the hospital but the roots have covered the door so she runs frantically round the garden for an exit. She falls into a hole with the corpse of the murdered child, screaming violently and clambering up the side. As the surgeon is occupied with escaping, the plants retreat rendering the hospital normal. A few members of staff hear the screams and come to inspect finding the surgeon trapped in the grave that she had built to hide her secret.

For the second plot I was trying to avoid the 'It was all a dream' death trap as I came up with the idea of having her imagined the hospital being overun by the plants and the child being back in the bed just on the simple thing that she was absolutely mental.

Like I said these are just ideas and need to be discussed more.

  1. I be honest both scenearios supply potential to satisfy my belief in this story. The only negative i would suggest is plot two and the plants chasing. It becomes more of a comedy. I suggest the roots being the chaser than the plant abit like devil snare in Harry Potter or the plant that posions Tom Cruise in Minority Report. On that basis I would suggest the strongests being Plot 1.
