Soviet Playgrounds

Playgrounds were an integral part of urban culture in the USSR, in the 70's and 80's and were seen in most parks in Soviet cities. The apparatus would mainly consist of metallic bars and hints of wooden parts, and all of them were manufactured in state-owned factories. After the breakup of the USSR in the 90's a lot of the metal equipment was stolen from the playgrounds but due to there being so many of them many still exist today full repainted in some cases. The most common apparatus were the carousel, climbing sphere, seesaw, rocket and bridge.
